I originally thought that the trees were destroyed by a straight-line wind but after examining the way they fell, the path of destruction and the scattering of curious debris, it was obviously the work of a small tornado.

Well I was a little closer to danger than I had thought. (Six
blocks away)… I went down to my park (college Hill) to access
the damage and was amazed to find about 20 trees had been destroyed.
(makes me sick) All of them were beautiful old large trees. And
now the park had a chain-saw choir cutting them up for firewood.
